Kenilworth is the smallest village on the North Shore, about 2,500 residents and roughly 800 homes, laid out in the 1890s as a planned community by Joseph Sears. It sits between Wilmette and Winnetka on the lake, with its own Metra stop on the Union Pacific North line.
Nearly every property is a single-family home on a generous lot, and the architecture is consistently high-end: Tudor, Georgian, and Colonial Revival houses from the early 1900s, many restored, alongside newer construction that replaced smaller homes. There is no commercial district to speak of; residents use Wilmette and Winnetka for shopping and dining.
Kenilworth District 38 runs the Joseph Sears School for K-8, and students go on to New Trier Township High School. Kenilworth Beach and the Kenilworth Club are the community anchors.
With so few homes, a handful of sales a year sets the market. Sellers here are pricing against a very short list of comparables, and getting it wrong in either direction is expensive. Call or text Jimmy at 312-800-1552 for a real read on where a Kenilworth house should list.
